For my money, the most fascinating thing about the “cover up” theme is that the unmentioned party behind the gaps in the 9/11 report is supposed to be Bush & Co. – or Cheney, or Rumsfeld, or whomever. Is this the only possibility?
Personally, I think the unnamed party, if there is one, is the FSB – yknow, the next generation of KGB that runs Russia? The KGB, the 1 million + strong intelligence agency that spent 70 years infiltrating every country on earth? The one the CIA was essentially organized to combat? Ah… but of course, the USSR is barely even an acknowledged fact in the recent history of the public discourse. Who’s mind goes to Russia when a thing occurs in the world – Russia, the largest country and police state on earth, the model for every dictatorship supposedly loathed by the Left. It’s almost as if this entire species of mass neurosis we witness in phenomena like the JFK assassination nuts and the 9/11 truthers is a gigantic evasion from what is the most plain explanation for events like these. Or perhaps people believe the Russian government is one to take defeat easily, “I say, well played old chap! How about a spot of tea?”
Russia moved Saddam’s WMDs. Russia even gave Saddam our entire order of battle. I ask you, just consider Russia – and for a minute try to imagine that the people involved in such an enterprise, no matter who they were, would not likely leave the kind of “evidence” that you upright Aristotelians would be satisfied with.
Just consider. A thoughtexperiment. C’mon. It’s fun – I promise.
