Someone wanted to hear from a scientist? Well, I am one: Caltech and (Ta-dum) Harvard. Chemist of the theoretical ilk…like a quickie on Group Theory and Quantum Mechanics….can do.
Further, as a scientist I was thought to do a form of “due diligence”. Examine experimental data with an open mind. Search the literature for past knowledge. Analyze and calculate, calculate and analyze. The “appeal to experts” is sometimes a lazy way to avoid (or squelch) argument. Examine your own conclusions…examine others’ conclusions.
The above procedures are not always followed by faith-based religious systems. Gaia, Mother Earth, and Anthropological Global Warning are entirely ( Mom and G.) faith based and AGW is certainly partially faith based. As such, the purists (former examples) can be ignored and the partial faith based have a load of explaining to do.
And the explaining should be easily understood and verifiable (or falsifiable).
The MumBo JumBo of the latter faith types is what turns this person off. And in a big way.
So why do gullible “educators” fall in the latter category? It’s fashionable…nothing more. My grandmother would make a remark about weak minds in weak bodies…she was right too.
