“No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time…”
I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that being in the Constitution before.
Sounds like it says that if the salary or perqs associated with the job of Secretary of State have increased since Hilly was last elected to the Senate, then it would be illegal for her to be Secretary of State.
