I think more people are starting to look at academia and thinking of the old story, The Emperor’s New Clothes. The sad fact is that what now passes for academia is naked. More of us are seeing it and pointing it out – much to academia’s disgust.

As Steely Dan wrote:

You’ve been tellin’ me you’re a genius since you were seventeen
In all the time I’ve known you, I still don’t know what you mean

The things that pass for knowledge, I can’t understand.
