It’s stunning to see how smoothly the transition has been so far. Obama is the same liberal that he was earlier this month when Republicans were screaming “Socialist!” and “Marxist!” at the hate rallies.
But now Republicans have somehow convinced themselves that Obama has betrayed liberalism and the the left is “disillusioned”. This has neutralized the far-right as they’re unsure whether they’re supposed to: a) Oppose every Obama appointment or, b) Embrace the new administration and try to create a “divided left” narrative.
They still hate Obama, but since they’re trying to portray him as being far more conservative than he’s ever been, their voices now cancel each other out and the only man left standing is the President-elect.
Their complete and utter lack of self-awareness is truly a sight to behold. Republicans are being played and they don’t even know it. 51 days, 22 hours until inauguration.
