No, in 99% of cases, obesity is caused solely by putting in more calories than gets burned off. If some people have slow metabolisms, they just need to eat less.
If obesity was a pre-destined outcome decided by our genetics, why has the incidence shot up in recent years? Have all the people with fat genes been outbreeding the thin kids?
