Are you kidding me? No greed? How about the mortgage lenders, or the price of gas a month ago, or credit card debt, or the disaster on Wall Street, or Ford, Chrysler or GM. (Search Bob Nardelli) Can you say “bailouts”?
“Charity” is not just about giving, it’s about doing. It is about helping people, and teaching your children to help people. Any idea of what most of the degreed professionals make working at those organization that are “dedicated to helping others”? Nothing near what the people working at those automakers were making. I work for a non profit involved in helping families and children. It is a choice I make because at the end of most days, I go home feeling good about what I did that day. Health insurance premiums are going up and states are cutting funding, eliminating jobs and services. So while you say donations are abundant, everyday I see people that need help. The system needs to be fixed, but that’s another story.
