That’s the problem with hard anything, left or right. All emotion and no thought. Anyone who thought he could be all things to all people needs to go back to watching Disney movies. I don’t think he ever promised that. I think he presented a lot of good ideas that he intended/s to follow through on to the best of his abilities. Do I think he can accomplish all of them, or even most of them? No! Of course not. America is not Fantasyland. We know how things work here, everywhere. The pendulum swings back and forth and things get done slowly. But I voted for him, and would do so all over again because if he can even fix a few things, then it’s better than it was, and more than I think McCain can do. I understand what he is trying to do in bringing opponents into the Cabinet. He’s trying to erase partisan politics. Nothing more, nothing less, get rid of the Us vs. Them mentality that has characterized politics for so long. Whether it will work the way he thinks, who knows? But Yay for trying. Hillary may seem like more of old Washington, and I don’t particularly like her, but under new guidance, maybe he can bring in some of her better qualities and abilities in a new direction, same with Joe Lieberman and others he’s chosen. I think he knows all of them better than we do, it’s not like I’ve ever gotten to actually have a conversation with them, so really, he’s in a better position to know their talents and what they can do. In any case, I’m still willing to take the crap shoot, with the recognition that he’s just a guy that might be able to help. But ain’t nobody gonna come down from the clouds in a golden chariot and fix all our problems. We need to get off our butts and start working on that ourselves. For the past eight years, we voted the current stupid %$#@ into office and allowed him to stay there, despite numerous, potent, and obvious reasons for impeaching him, and we need to take some responsibility for the effects. Those problems were caused by our decisions, and our lack of protest. I think that the people who are getting so disappointed have made the mistake of deifying the presidency, or at least living in Harry Potter world where magic wands and magic stimulus packages are going to make it all go away. If you want a god, go to church, don’t ever look for him/her/it in the White House.
