If you good people want to get traditional Democratic votes to switch to the GOP, it helps if you don’t use insulting, patronizing metaphors about getting blacks to “leave the plantation” or to compare some dreadful hack like Ari Fleischer to Moses, trying to lead his people from “bondage.”
Using platitudes about how the GOP is about “freedom” isn’t that convincing if the people who want to convince think the GOP is a blundering mass of mediocrities abusing American power to advance a few short-sighted goals.
Just a thought.
