Yes, I have this problem with my dad, who’s 78. He’s very clear on his defense of 2nd Amendment rights but when I point out to him that his favorite Democrats’ positions are diametrically opposed to his, he changes the subject. The same thing applies to socialism as well. The fear of Republicans is just bred into him I guess.
