A blog of sore losers who have nothing else to do except blame a man for what he hasn’t even done yet. He’s not even in office yet! Clearly most of you just cant accept that he’s been elected to office anyway. You can’t change how the majority has voted (over 300 electoral votes). It would be nice for all the haters to at least give the man a fair chance.

Noelle,
I will let you in on a little secret about government policies. When enacted, they have predicatable effects, like distorting markets, creating perverse incentives, stifling innovation, etc. Please listen to me carefully when I tell you that I don’t need for Obama to take office to predict how his plans will play out, which is to say, badly. Yes, even worse than what we have now. I don’t care if he got 500 electoral votes, that doesn’t change the iron laws of politics. Things that people say they want to do in the heat of a campaign are not what they end up doing once the rhetoric dies down. As plans get fleshed out, they are seen to be unworkable given the current constraints of human nature. These are just facts and Obama’s supporters either don’t understand them or don’t care because they will somehow benefit from this, at the expense of the rest of the country who isn’t as adept at gaming Obama’s systems.
Also, and I’m only picking on you because you’re my latest example, can we please drop the infantile use of the word “hate” in politics? While it isn’t too strong a word for how I feel about Obama’s stated policy preferences (I hate everything that pulls the human race downward toward servitude instead of propelling them upward toward freedom, I guess you could say), it’s clearly being used to shut down debate, which is just stupid beyond belief because debates (with realistic assumptions about human nature and politics) are exactly what are required. The left, with certain marginal exceptions, such as the work done on “lemons” markets and information assymetries, doesn’t have a leg to stand on within the realm of economics, yet, curiously, that is where they claim the most expertise. This information needs to be put in the hands of “swing voters” so that they understand that the left will decrease the amount of the material items swing voters enjoy.
