Social justice is what gets us through hard times. Because as long as we believe we are being fairly treated, we can put up with hard times. But if we believe we are being shafted, we don’t care about the haves because we don’t believe the haves care about anything but themselves.

And social justice is not a difficult concept – it means stopping some of the outrageous inequalities between the haves and the have nots. And it cannot be imposed and it cannot be left to people’s good nature. It is achieved by the rule of law.
