Silence speaks volumes here. If the stories were lies, if McCain truly respected Palin’s intelligence, he’d be out publicly refuting the stories that paint Palin in a bad light.
She’s precisely as much of an airhead as the Couric interviews implied. She is, however, charismatic and boundlessly ambitious, and will have an enthusiastic base of supporters as a substantial minority in the Republican party.
She is unelectable, but she’ll try and thus divide the Republican Party. If it seemed that embittered Hillary supporters were a headache for the Democrats, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
