And JFK is turning over in his grave because today we’re pouring money into schools to force all students to march to the beat of the slowest drummer while the brightest are IGNORED. In MA, some schools pay 4 to 5 times the average student cost trying to teach mentally retarded kids to pass standardized tests when the most we can really hope for them is that they’ll be able to get a job bagging groceries and balance their checkbooks. That while the gifted students get virtually NOTHING extra! So there’s little question why we have a shortage of engineers, physicists, doctors and mathematicians and have to seek them from places like India where they encourage excellence..something they learned from us back when we used to do it.
