One other thing: The leftist intelligentsia loves to pretend that it is showing courage by protesting the war. They bring up the straw man of “domestic spying” so they can strut around and convince themselves that they are defiantly and dangerously speaking “truth to power.”
On the other hand, the students who are organizing Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week really are showing a measure of courage. What happened to Theo Van Gogh and others can happen here, and they must certainly be aware of that.
