It’s a symbol, alright: a symbol of philosophy. We’ve had John Kerry’s “Global Test”, so why not an “internationale” candidate who doesn’t get into the “jingoism” of a lapel pin?
I have to disagree with David Thomson. This is not self-hating Americanism, or even anti-Americanism. It’s an internationalism like only the neo-comms can do it.
