We can rightfully take pride in the fact that someone who could literally have been bought or sold as property in 1776 is elected President in 2008. That’s progress regardless your political stripe. The irony is that in the radical leftist worldview, which some of us legitimately fear is held by Obama, we are all merely wards of the state, slaves by another name. That certainly adds a gnarly twist to that destiny thing.
