Since when does seeking objectivity translate to your bizarre conclusion that “their birthright has become an embarrassment they must deny”? Left, right or center, the core principle of journalism is to report the facts as best you can, in as objective a manner as possible. You are equating journalism with the opinionated work of people like Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart, who are certainly not journalists.
The whole point of our unique freedom for the press is to provide a neutral perspective to inform the public, a fourth estate. Media bias from right or left undermines our freedom as Americans. With that in mind, you cannot logically oppose a liberal bias in journalism while promoting a conservative bias at the same time.
