Ready to move on

To the white men out there who feel the burden of “being the one unprotected class,” I feel for you. You do get a bum rap. Isee a crisis with young men of all colors. They do not perform as well in school and they increasing feeling disenfranchised.

It is a complex problem. Here is a solution. Start with the premise that we are all Americans and that we want what is best for the country. Give that respect. From that place of respect talk about solutions. Debate issues and don’t attack each other and see what happens. I bet we could get more done.

If we care about all American children, should we try to ensure that they all have an equal shot at education and opportuntity? If we want to own guns, shouldn’t we have sensible regualtions to ensure that those guns do not end up in the wrong hands? If I believe in a woman’s right to choose, shouldn’t work to create a world in which women feel that they have viable options? If I believe that this country was founded upon the right to practice the religion of my choice, should I work to keep church and state separate. Just food for thought. I would appreciate it if those who answer would do so with respect. I am genuinly interested in debate of the issue. Give me valid answers.

I hope Obama is forced to accomodate conservatives and truely reach across the aisle. I’m glad that there is not a super majority in the senate, because there is a check and balance. I remain convinced that if we are going to unite, we need to find common ground.
