Let’s Take Some Pride in Obama’s Election — No Matter Who We Voted For

In light of the incredible hate spewed out into the blogosphere toward your column, I do want to thank you for your very well written article. Not a surprise, you always write well.
But I see your experience as indicative of what I think happened in America this election season. I sense from your past columns that you are from a pretty conservative background, you knew you would take a lot of flak for stepping outside that box. But you put a lot of thought into your vote. I think much of America did that. Instead of blindly voting the party line, I think many Americans took a long hard look at the challenges we face and voted for the person they thought had the intellect, the vision and the temperament to lead us out of it.
And that person rightly offered to earn the trust of the people who didn’t vote for him as he realizes we all need to come together, yes and sacrifice, to get this country back on track.
