It is long past time for the existing power structure in Republican contingent in the House and Senate to GO!
New blood is needed as Minority Leader and Whip on both sides of the Hill.
In the House, we deserve to have a principled conservative leader such as Jeff Flake, Mike Pence, or Cohen of VA. There are many others that can take up the challenge, I just throw those names out to initiate a discussion.
Boehner and Blunt must go, along with whatever numskull is running the Republican Congressional Campaign Cmte.
In the Senate, same deal.
I congratulate Mitch McConnell for his re-election in a tough fight; now, step down from your leadership position.
Tom Coburn is the man for the job. Let him pick his own Whip. Ensign needs to look to representing his constituents in NV (and rebuilding the GOP brand there), he was a disaster as the Campaign Cmte leader. Where are the good candidates for Senate? When you can’t even get the incumbents re-elected, how do you expect to win open seats?
It’s time to get back to basics, craft a message (Contract With America, anyone?), and be true to that message.
The interegnum of ’54-’94, showed that me-tooism was not a path to political success on the Hill. Let’s not fall into that trap again.
