Where did I ever say conservative equals racist? NOWHERE. My point was that despite the internet, 24-hour news, etc. etc. there are people who not only believe, but choose to perpetrate, lies and innuendo. I’m just a bit fed up, having to have listened to, amongst other things, 2 months of constant ads on TV claiming that “Proposition 8 will restore traditional marriage.” I REALLY don’t think that anyone’s proclivities are any of my business, but I also have observed that traditional marriage has not been banned in CA for the last 4 months (and hence doesn’t need to be “restored”). It makes ME want to vomit to think that people are still teaching their children intolerance and fear of anyone who doesn’t agree with their religious beliefs or who might look different from them.
OK stepping down off the soapbox now. Thank goodness this only happens once every 4 years, I need that long to stock up on enough scotch to get me through it!
