Of course he would’ve gone into Iraq – I agree. I also agree with the basic sentiment of the article: US presidents are compelled by geostrategic logic, and not by any of the other motivations attributed to Bush. Iraq was going to have to be resolved sooner than later, with or without 9/11, and it was never going to be resolved in Saddam’s favor. Why? Because Saddam Hussein was a psychotic asshole. That’s pretty much all that matters here.
