Does anyone remember swiftboating?

Sure do. I call it telling the truth about the Democratic candidate, because the media won’t.

Actually, I think what offended many Vietnam vets about Kerry was not his (disputed) account of his service, but the not insignificant fact that once back, he slandered other troops as murdering hordes of savages. As one veteran put it “A WWII veteran once said that he was no hero, but he was surrounded by heroes. Kerry would have us believe that he was a hero surrounded by war criminals.”

The only veterans acceptable to the Dems are those who denigrate the past and present objectives of the military. Murtha served heroically in Vietnam, but don’t worry, he’s made up for that character flaw by slandering the veterans of the present war. When Jim Webb’s name was being bandied about this summer as a possible VP pick, much of the Democratic commentary about him was negative. Webb is against the Iraq War, but is insufficiently contrite about his service in Vietnam, and for many Dems (and maybe Obama himself), that made Webb an unacceptable choice.
