Could Indiana Become a Blue State?

Mr Kaufman makes an excellent point. People tend to think of Indiana as traditionally red. However, my experiences and interactions as a student and new resident of the state would give evidence to the contrary. Far too many times I have run into the angry anti-Bush bumper stickers that were the norm back when I lived in the east coast. When conversations with classmates have turned to politics (or even a remotely political topic), I have noticed that all too familiar liberal bias in our conversations which assumes that we are all on the same page as far as our “dislike” for the current government and conservative values. Perhaps my experiences are a reflection of the fact that I spend most of my time in the city and on a college campus. Whatever the case, it is interesting to continue to explore Hoosier politics given the importance of Indiana’s role in next year’s election.
