I have long wondered why we did not put more pressure on the Assad government to slow if not in fact stop altogether the flow of insurgents. Their excuse was not even close to anything any self respecting sovereign nation would admit to. Yet patrolling the Iranian much less the Syrian border has not been a priority due to man power constraints. I would consider this a gift to Assad from the US Armed services (Courtesy of course of a Surge that continues to yield up more successes). We’re just trying to help him put a lid on trouble makers his guys couldn’t handle (cough). Your welcome Syria.
