It’s not hard to see how we got into such a wonderful state of the union, given the “deep” thinking displayed here. Instant salivation at key words has substituted far too long in this country for intelligent conversation and dissemination of information. Slapp Happy, Daffy Duck, and Lush Bimbo make a lot of noise too, it’s the greatest replacement therapy for thought. The article that inspired all these comments made vast jumps from “facts” to woop – woop! He’s a commoonist! Woop Woop! If the readers and the writer were really all that upset by the concept of redistribution of wealth, where have the all been for the last eight years, as wealth WAS redistributed, with each and every revision of the tax code. Just not from the “poor, poor” wealthy to the rest of us, but from the rest of us to the wealthy. The biggest lie still living is the trickle down theory. Wealth DOES NOT originate at the top, it’s pumped up from the bottom, and skimmed off at the top. We earn that wealth, the top two percent collect it and store it. The greatest economic incentive to create business for all of us is to put more of the income WE create in the hands of those who actually earn it, and will spend it for daily items, for giving their families a little of the good life, and god forbid they retain enough of the wealth they create, to even save some in banks and bonds. Wealth is created by those who build the roads, your houses, the cars, grow your food, repair your whatevers. I’m oddly enough just an old conservative, I own my own business, but the idiocy and brainless hysteria displayed here has nothing to do with conservatism, and everything to do with being so very trained to parrot instead of think. I know that addressing a crop of true believers is a futile waste of time, but somehow, someway, we’ve all got to start doing a better job of processing information, our own biases and fervently held beliefs. If what you are so wrought about is true, if what you so fervently believe is true, if what you are so blithely accepting from the talking points is so true. why are things doing so very badly when those who so exemplify those beliefs have been having their way for so long?
