This shouldn’t and probably won’t rise to Rodney King levels of hysteria; it was a campus incident, and everyone comes across rather poorly: the security officers, the speaker, the student, and even John Kerry.
But I think it is important to question whether or not campus security were acting professionally in this case. It does appear that the speaker was subdued and handcuffed before he was tased. Their actions should be subject to review, and they are. (The whole “inciting a riot” excuse that the campus security used also seems rather absurd.)
