I must have missed something along the way.
Would someone please tell me where Joe the Plumber was dishonest? Did he seek Obama out to “entrap” him? Did he misrepresent himself in any way? Is it really relevant that he, personally, doesn’t have a plumber’s license? That he owes back taxes? That he uses his middle name as his preferred name?
And for your information, ladies and gentlemen,(although I really have my doubts about that designation for a few of you posters on this site) the title of the article “How Joe the Plumber Could Cost Obama the Election” can now be changed around some and read “How the Inconvenient Question by Joe the Plumber to Obama Cost Joe the Plumber His Job and Burst Joe’s American Dream Bubble”. How’s that, you ask? Too long for a title?
Well, has anyone followed Joe’s story to its latest chapter?
Seems that Joe and his fellow workers at the plumbing enterprise that Joe wanted to buy and expand no longer have a job! The firm closed its doors. Maybe the business was not viable. Maybe all the media crush caused it to suffer a reversal of fortune. Maybe… Maybe… Maybe…
One good thing came out of all this, though, Now Joe doesn’t have to wait until the Obama administration’s coronation in 2009 to fret about his being “punished”, right?
And allow me to preempt what some of you are most likely thinking: No, Mr.ObaMarx was in no way directly and personally responsible for what happened. Just an unlikely alignment of the stars… Will we ever know? Do we really care?
