You keep referring to the MSM (mainstream media) like it is one media cartel. With Rupert Murdoch’s media outlets (like Fox News) reaching 40% of all Americans you can hardly make the claim for a left wing media conspiracy.

McCain has said in that he “doesn’t really understand economics” so I am not sure how anyone could have faith in his plan.

Obama’s plan gives 90-95% of Americans a tax break. Middle class Americans will get a much bigger tax break under Obama than they will McCain. People making over $250,000 will see an increase in taxes under Obama while McCain will give a substantial tax break to those making more than $250,000. Remember we are talking about personal income tax not business taxes so it won’t have a negative effect on business.

McCain opposed making the Bush tax cuts permanent because he said we couldn’t afford it. Now he is embracing those cuts.

Under Bush high paying manufacturing jobs have flown out the window to China & other developing nations. Bush has rewarded those corporations with tax breaks for moving our jobs overseas. In return these companies have sold us vastly inferior products. At times our health has been compromised on purpose by products made overseas. Look at pet food or baby formula that had melamine in it. Melamine is a plastic resin that isn’t meant to be ingested and can kill us. Why do they put melamine in our food? Because it increases the protein content of the food cheaply. Where is the oversight? Well Bush & the Republicans gutted the FDA.

Who deregulated the markets? A Republican congress in 1999 with the Gramm Leach Bliley Act which is partially responsible for our financial mess.

Now McCain who voted alongside Bush 90-95% of the time says he will be the one to fix the financial mess. The Republicans turned the largest budget surplus in history & turned it into the largest budget deficit in history.

Elliot Spitzer & Attorney Generals from 50 states starting going after predatory lenders & Bush invoked a clause from an arcane law from 1863 to stop them. Bush actively stopped AG’s from going after predatory lenders in 2003. The Republicans in Congress even admitted there was a problem but did nothing. Please don’t tell me S109 as it would have deregulated GSE’s & the Repubs never took the bill out of committee.

During the Great Depression the Gov’t spent our way of the Depression. We are doing the same thing now with the bail out. During the Great Depression the Gov’t got all the money it spent back & we will again.

Regarding job creation as these manufacturing jobs fly out the window we don’t have to reward the corporations that ship our jobs overseas. China does not trade in a fair manner with us, yet they make a fortune selling us crap. Trying opening a company in China, guess what happens you need Gov’t approval & you must have a Chinese business partner so you are splitting your profits. Imagine if we tried that in America? We need a President to direct us towards a fair trade pact with China.

It is unlikely we will win these unskilled mfg jobs back so what do we do? With the prospect of the world running out of oil & global warming looming large the future lies in green jobs. The nation that finds solutions to the energy problem & global warming will be economically prosperous. McCain’s answer drill, drill, drill, not exactly a forward thinking or practical strategy.
