Think for a moment about the Obama campaign slogan of “Change We Need.” Intended to create that warm feeling of “hope” and yearning for “change” and maybe gives certain pundits chills up their legs but, beyond that, there isn’t much meaning in it. The Obama campaign spins it in a way that means it’s a break from the Bush Administration but it really has a deeper meaning that Joe the Plumber has helped all of us see better.
“Change” actually refers to Joe’s Change–the change he may earn if he buys that plumbing business. It referes to your change, and any change you may earn from your hard earned work. Heaven forbid that ObamaBiden let you “keep the change.”
“We Need” means exactly what it says. “We Need” your change. We need your change to take as we wish, distribute to whomever and whatever we want, and don’t ask us any questions about it. Because we stand for hope.
Instead of a vacuous and lofty mantra of a new political movement, see “Change We Need” as a crushing socialist hand doing a shakedown on guys like Joe and other great Americans working their butts off to make this country work.
Change We Need ought to be the American taxpayer’s slogan this year. We need our change–so we can send our kids to college and pay for houses. We need our change–not someone elses change and we certainly don’t need these two clowns to help us get more and realize our dreams.
Turn the “Change” slogan on the Obama Campaign. You are the one who needs to keep the change–Obama wants it to send to Ol’Jeremiah who needs some coin in the plate or to Tony Rezko who may need a new pillow in the clink.
Vote for Joe’s Change. Help him keep some of it.
