I would offer the following to your attention:
The people McCain and his partisans actually need to reach on November 4th don’t really care about any of these “questionable associations”. Why? Two reasons.
Most of America is sophisticated enough to understand that “questionable associations” can be found for anyone in public life. They are simply part of the package. The serious questions are what will the winner do when he takes office, and what will his Vice President do if the call comes. These are the questions McCain has never been able to adequately answer.
Further, undertaken right now, everything about this campaign tactic smells of political desperation. The time for this [if there was one] was four months ago, and the place for it is not robocalls that annoy voters who are just flat out weary of this marathon campaign.
