I saw this excellent film at the Muvico in Boca Raton last week. And though I was already well aware of the issues highlighted in the film, it was chilling to watch. My main purpose for attending had been to gauge the reaction of the crowd as we get closer to the scariest election in American history. Most I spoke with were either voting for McCain, or at least considering the possibility. Due to high demand, they actually had two showings. I honestly don’t know how anyone could have left that theater still intending to vote for Obama, if that was indeed their mindset prior to viewing.
But from what I gathered, there are many folks who are under the impression that the Democrat party is still the party of JFK. Sadly, that hasn’t been the case for many, many years. Others need to wake up and realize that social issues like abortion are not the end-all. I happen to be a pro-lifer, but most pro-choice friends of mine agree that we must have some restrictions on abortion. Yet there were older (60s, 70s) women in line who were more obsessed with Roe v. Wade than the threat of radical Jihad.
I did my best to put forth the federalist argument (should be voted upon by the citizens of each state, not decided by activist judges), while emphasizing that neither the President, nor the VP has the power to overturn Roe. But inside my head I was screaming, “Wake up, people!” If the Jihadists have their way, social issues will be a moot point.
Anyway, I have the utmost respect and admiration for Dr. Zudhi Jasser and everyone involved in making this crucial film. All are heroes.
