My father told me many years ago that he feared that I would have to fight for my country against an enemy that called himself my brother, my leader, my countryman. I thought he was being melodramatic. I am sorry dad, I wish I could tell you that you were wrong, but it was me that was wrong. I don’t think pitch forks are going to be enough this time though. It was a good experiment, from 1776 to 2008, but all good things must come to an end. We either become two countries as semi-friends or we become two countries as enemies.
