James, believe it or not, there are some teachers who actually get the job of educating the youth done. They helped me test out of a year’s worth of engineering courses at the University of Michigan, even when the system didn’t cooperate. They should be pulling $100-150k/year for what they do. The bums who would rather indoctrinate children or do nothing deserve to be fired without severance.
As for me, I don’t want a handout and I don’t want anyone reaching into my pocket to help the poor. I’ll help the poor myself and do so far more effectively than the government can. I want the government to cut taxes for all and cut spending. I want the President to tell Congress we are spending $2.5 trillion next year, and this is what I refuse to cut. Figure out how to get the task done on $2.5 trillion or less or I will veto the budget until you pass it according to specs, subjecting us to a govt. shutdown if necessary. If you override my veto, I will give an order to the Treasury Secretary not to pay anything above $2.5 trillion out of the Treasury despite the authorization.
I want to replace our entire tax code with the Fair Tax, saving Americans at least $320 billion/year in compliance costs. I want to open up all our oil, gas, coal and uranium reserves to mining and drilling, which will generate jobs and tax revenues. I want to reprocess spent nuclear fuel, which will create jobs and solve 96% of our nuclear waste problem. I want to punish criminals by swiftly executing murderers, and would love to see capital punishment extended to rapists and kidnappers as well. For the rest of the criminals, let’s bring back chain gangs and let them slave away for our benefit.
I didn’t ask for a handout to pay for college. I signed a contract to serve as a Naval Officer upon graduation in exchange for tuition money. I will have to take orders from whomever is elected in two weeks, and I don’t trust that Obama even has a clue what makes people like me tick. True, my debt makes me a slave to the State for five years after I graduate, but that doesn’t mean they own my soul. To the rest of you, I, like Joe, will not make $250k any time soon. In fact, a large portion of my income won’t even be taxable. I don’t care. Do I not have a right to vote against my short-term economic self-interest, or even my long-term economic self-interest, if I wish to do so on principle? I wouldn’t vote for Obama if George Soros promised me a $100 million/year job managing his money, because I believe Obama doesn’t value human life, has contempt for hard work, and is unfit for command. I’d like to see Obama maintain bearing while being chewed out by my Gunnery Sergeant.
To those who would rather steal or cheat the system- enjoy your blood money; it will bring you nothing but curses.
