Response to Youngblood: Small business is generally consider to be those businesses who have gross income below $10 million. The form of IRS registration makes a big difference in the taxation picture. Most like Joe the Plumbers compnay are probably Sub Chapter S Corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietors. They pay no income tax. Their profit passes on to the stockholders, partnerns or proprietor. He is then taxed on his personal 1040 return just like everyone else. All of this talk about Small Business Taxes is a bunch of hooey. If the owner of Joe’s company has to pay an additional 3% on any amount above $250,000 he is in no worse shape that a CEO, Doctor, Lawyer or anyone else. The Republicans have always tried to claim to be sponsors or supporters of the bourgeois or commercial middle class. They are generally known to have the “nobility” or rich class so if they can ensnare the small business men then they got the rest of the others the so called “working class” whipped. Lets forget all this hooey and be pragmatists like Barak Obama and Warren Buffet, two people who can transcend supposed class warfare for the benefit of real solutions. There is a statistic some where that says small business generally does better under Democrats.
