Mr. Navarette (and/or Ms. Rosett), could you point to one instance of Senators Obama or Biden taking “pot-shots” at Joe the Plumber? You cite no examples, taking it as assumed; Ms. Rosett links to one example, but it describes Senator Obama as criticizing Senator McCain for mischaracterizing plumbers as examples of people who make over $250,000, since most make less. That’s a far cry from taking a “pot-shot” at Mr. Wurzelbacher.

I agree with you that the media’s treatment of Mr. Wurzelbacher has been distasteful – he asked a question of a candidate, and then a few days later found the media hounding his past. But I do not see how, with no examples, you’ve brought Senator Obama, Senator McCain, and “the well-to-do elites who run the Democratic Party” into your commentary. That fails even the barest standards of journalistic integrity, Mr. Navarette.
