Why is Obama responsible for the media digging into Joe’s business? I agree that the media should leave this guy alone; regardless of whether he’s a licensed plumber or not, he raised a legitimate question that deserved a thorough answer, which is what Obama gave him. McCain is the one who thrust Joe the Plumber into the public spotlight, not Obama. The Republicans are now trotting Joe out as a victim because the media, NOT the Obama campaign, has begun investigating his dirty laundry. This is about as credible as the Republicans blaming the Obama campaign for the media looking into Sarah Palin’s past — i.e., it’s NOT credible. And neither are you, Mr. Navarette, unless you explain why you believe the media’s scrutiny of Joe the Plumber is Obama’s fault.
