This is McCain’s version of Reagan’s mythical welfare queen – and it points out the real problem of the Republican party. They want things to fit into nice little paradigms, despite the facts. It’s true of the Iraq war, it was true of Reagan’s welfare queen (who only went back to work because of Bill Clinton) and it’s true of Joe the Plumber.

Let’s look at Joe the Plumber. He is an unlicensed worker, who can’t pay his taxes and oh btw, he will get a hefty tax decrease due to Obama’s policies. But he buys into the conservative folly that someday he can be rich. GET REAL! He’s 43 years old and his most fruitful working years have been under a Republican president and Congress. And economically, he’s nowhere.

He’s not a small businessman – he’s a modern day blue-collar walter middy. And the Republican Party can’t figure out the truth, but want to believe in a blow hard fake that isn’t what he set himself out to be.

Look and find the real world, Republican – get out of your ivory towers.
