The Republicans have led this country for the last eight years. In that time they’ve been exceptionally secretive, expansive in executive power at the direct expense of our civil rights, fiscally irresponsible at a level that seems to contradict even their own principals, reckless and negligent in the pursuit of war, unable to take care of American’s in need, and even willing to pull ideologically driven grandstand stunts with the Schiavo family’s misfortune.

Real income in this country declined over these 8 years! That means Halliburton, Exxon and the CEO at Lehman made millions or billions while we got poorer. The housing bubble burst within full view of the Republican regulators and authorities and they didn’t check a single risky or outrageous act.

McCain’s policies mostly continue the major policy themes of the current Republican administration. He makes no significant distinction between hims plans and the current policies. How can that be reassuring?

As an independent voting for Obama, I find it ridiculous that a McCain supporter thinks I’m dumb or ignorant because I won’t listen to their inuendo about Ayers, or ACORN or Arab terrorists. Honestly when all you have left to make your case is vitriol and innuendo in your heart you know you’ve surrendered and I guess you’d hate yourself for it.
