I think in Joe you get someone that even if it won’t effect him ( at least not now ) understands that there is something inherently unfair to our so-called “progressive” tax system. Let us suppose that we did everything the way our tax system works. When I was in school my mother used to Pay me $5 for every A, $3 for a B, $1 for a C and started subtracting after that… you get the picture. What type of results do you think she might have been getting if she used our Progressive method of penalizing success. I can tell you.. if she penalized me for each A and B.. I would have damn sure made certain I never got higher than a C.. How is it fair to require someone that has gotten educated or worked hard to pay “extra” or above their fair share in order to off-set everyone else. Where is the incentive? Unless you can make an extreme jump… for example if you make $249,000 you will pay $89,640 in income taxes alone…taxed at 36% under Obama’s new rates. If you get a $5000 increase in income,…God Forbid, your tax liability at 39%, jumps to $99,060… this net increas of over $9000 combined with your raise, leaves you over four grand in the hole…
