In case many liberals have not noticed, much of the money coming into the Obama camp, is from the extremely wealthy & large corporation management. That dog don’t run no more. BOTH parties benefit from money from the wealthy & the corporate giants. Both parties are as responsible for our failures. Blaming one party is no longer logical. That position no longer holds water.
Conservatism has not been represented by candidates for the presidency since George Bush. he is not & did not run as a “conservative.” He ran as a “compassionate” conservative, which is something like a liberal conservative, if such a concoction were possible. Bush, just like McCain, obtained the nomination only because independents & moderates & crossover Democrats, voted for them in primaries. In short, they do NOT represent conservatives.
Conservatism is not the villain it is portrayed to be by political hit tactics. Doing good or helping the poor is not the exclusive purview of liberals. Conservatives contribute more to charity that liberals & that has been documented often. The issue for conservatives has always been, “they” want to decide the who, what, where, when, why, how & even if, “their money” is distributed. Conservatives do not trust government or bureaucrats to decide those issues only because often “the system” always screws that up, “after” taking its huge cut.
The UN is the best example of that. They take huge sums of money, that ends up in personal accounts by the way, to do the same giving conservatives do directly through organizations who take minimal cuts to administer distribution. Taking up to 15% is considered reasonable. The Un takes up to 30% & fails. The UN has failed for decades & continues to fail.
The US government bureaucracy under the management of Congress has not done all that well either over the years. But, average people have done a spectacular job, with little or no recognition for their efforts.
Conservatives will not run away. We will be here to rebuild the damaged nation liberals will leave us with. We always have been the builders, the ones who stick even when the going gets tough. We are those whose hands are dirty from work. We are those whose ingenuity has overcome the challenges we have faced for over 200 years.
History is on our side. Socialism has not worked &/or is burdening people around the world. Socialist leaders always tend to migrate into despots. Think Chavez or Castro. In the end, if you take from those making the effort, people tend to stop making huge efforts until they can change the system. Why work hard so some bureaucrat can take it from you & portray themselves as altruistic with your money?
Even Raul Castro has decided to embrace more capitalist programs, as have the Chinese. They know without profits & without people being able to benefit from their toil, all they have is mediocre performance by the unhappy!
We’ll be here as always & we will be the ones to pick up the pieces & fix the mess we will be left with when Obama & his socialist buddies get done screwing up the America our founders entrusted to us!
