Sleepless in Chicago – The Bible says forgiveness defeats the schemes of the devil (2Cor. 2:10-11). My family fought against the disgrace of human slavery in America. We sacrificed our lives and everything we worked for to help slaves seeking freedom and liberty in the Underground Railroad in Ohio.

I went to a predominately black Junior High School in Ohio and I was constantly discriminated against, spit upon, slapped, punched, kicked and antagonized by angry black young men. I don’t hate them for their ignorance and my life has been an example of love for all my brothers and sisters regardless of the color of their skin.

Blacks do not have a monopoly on discrimination and slavery either. Take for instance white Jews enlaved by the Egyptians for 400 years. Slavery and discrimination is a tool of Satan against all of mankind. I’m not black and I have not walked in your shoes. But you are not condemned to a life of misery either. America is the epitome of of Rom. 12:2 “… be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” America has persevered against evil and defeated it over and over again.

America has renewed her mind regarding slavery, human rights and Christian charity. As the saying goes, it is not where you start but where you finish. I could be wrong, but you seem angry Sleepless in Chicago. Anger is the byproduct of fear. Fear is the favorite tool of our adversary in the spiritual realm. You cant’ stand in faith an fear at the same time. Be strong and courageous (Josh. 1:6). Know that I’m praying for you and our country, the greatest country in the world.

Jer. 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. This is God’s promise to all his children. The only color God sees is love!
