I’ve always looked a ‘going John Galt’ as a matter of degree. The full Atlas Shrugged version of it is just the endpoint on the ‘I’m not going to participate in this travesty’ side of the spectrum.
We’ve all been doing mini John Galt’s for years in reaction onerous government be it in the form of relocating out companies, not hiring additional employees, and seeking ways to reduce our tax liabilities, not taking that raise that move us into the next tax bracket, etc.
But those are all miniscule compared to what we now face. An Obama/Reid/Pelosi government represents a death blow to entrepreneurship.
What point is there in becoming a victim of your own hard earned success?
