Racism is only an issue in this campaign because Obama supporters and surrogates have been engaging in a bizarre McCarthyite witchhunt for racist code words and phrases in every innocuous comment, gesture and aside by Obama opponents.
Yep, that’s right: OBAMA SUPPORTERS AND SURROGATES are the ones that have injected race into this campaign.

Hillary Clinton was attacked for being racially insensitive for comparing LBJ and MLK.
Bill Clinton was attacked for saying the idea Obama has a superior anti-war record was the “biggest fairytale I’ve ever seen.”
Bill Shaheen was attacked for saying Obama’s druggie past could be a big issue in the general election.
Sarah Palin was attacked for making the 100% accurate claim that Obama pals around with terrorists.
McCain was attacked for referring to Obama as “that one.”
McCain’s Paris Hilton ad was called racist because it had a white woman in it.
The NewYorker parody cover was attacked as racist.
Anyone that uses Obama’s god given middle name is attacked as being racist.
Hillary Clinton’s 3AM ad was called racist.
Another Hillary Clinton ad was called racist because ALLEGEDLY Obama appeared slightly darker in it.
David Patterson said Rudy Guiliani, Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson’s use of the word “community organizer” was code word for black man.
Harry Reid claimed it was racist for McCain to have an anti-Obama ad with Franklin Raines of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac infamy in it. (It doesn’t matter that the Washington Post reported Raines was advising Obama on housing issues.)
Barney Frank says it’s racist to criticize the Democrats mismanagement and poor oversight over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The big daddy of all race baiting though was John Lewis’s disgusting comparison between McCain/Palin and George Wallace.
I could offer example after example of Obama supporters and surrogates attacking Obama supporters as racist and/or being racially insensitive.
So please, SPARE ME the “America just can’t handle a black man becoming President” garbage.
The vast majority of Americans are FINE with a black man becoming president. What they DON’T like though is being accused of racism every time they say or do something that is unflattering about Obama.
