Good grief, what has happened to the conservatives? Time was when the conservative movement was calm and organized, efficient with money, marshalled facts and statistics, science and theory to support its ideas, and was stoic in the face of opposition and adversity. Conservativism today is hysterical and whiny, spends money like a drunken Kennedy on shore leave, uses anecdotes and personal attacks, disposes with science, and cries foul (or just plain cries) in the face of opposition. Conservatism has become as soft-headed and mush-mouthed as the liberals! What ever happened to “rock-ribbed” Republicanism? Whatever happened to it, we need it back. Back then, conservative thought was respected because conservatives were respected and respectable. Nowadays, the conservative cause is as limp and pathetic as liberalism, and who can respect that? Get some guts, conservatives! Enough throwing wild punches and falling on our faces, blubbering. Show some steel, and let’s gain some respect by action instead of being Rodney Dangerfield Republicans complaining that “we don’t get no respect.”
