Grizzly you’ve clearly never been to Israel. 80% of the country is secular. Only in the U.S. and Europe are all the synagogues full on Yom Kippur but in Israel, unless you are living in a religious enclave, you’ll be lucky to find more than a handful of people attending kol nidre for instance and they’ll all have grey hair. I’m very loosely reform and the only time I went to services in the US were for the high holy days (where you always had to get tickets in advance to assure you’d get in) but have given it up after trying for several years to find a ‘non-seniors’ service in huge but empty synagogues in Tel Aviv and surroundings.
