Religious freedom in the US has zero to do with Israel. No law does or can exist in the United States of America to force Grizzly to adhere to or follow any religion.

History reminds us that assimilation did not protect European Jewry?

History reminds us of no such thing. What doomed Jews — and a lot of other Germans — was that assimilated Jewish Germans, unassimilated Jewish Germans, and non-Jewish Germans all lost control of their government and Germany was taken over by a bunch of vicious, lunatic radical leftists (that’s the “socialist” part in “National Socialism”). Again, this is something you can look up on the internet.

That government then conceived of several homicidal ideas — just like radical leftist Soviet, Chinese and Cambodian regimes that thought it should be state policy to eradicate “the bourgeoisie,” “landlords,” “running dogs of imperialism,” or “anyone with eyeglasses.” Take your pick.

The National Socialists (focus on that word) had two equally lunatic ideas, namely, (1) kill off Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, communists, and all regime opponents, inter alia, and (2) wage aggressive war against a massive country with a massive population off to the east. Both of these ideas resulted in the deaths of millions of Jews, gypsies, etc. AND it resulted in the death of millions and millions and millions of non-Jewish Germans. All this because Germany came to be a totalitarian regime and worshiped political power.

So, despite your considerable intelligence, which I do NOT doubt, the tragedy I see in your post is that your self-imposed blinders cause you to see the world in Jew-goy monochrome. Mr. Grizzly gets it about what America is all about but you don’t. The American experiment with a constitutional republic sought to prevent fanatics and lunatics from being able to do what the National Socialists (that word again!) did in Germany and what communist regimes did elsewhare. Once power is concentrated in few hands ANY social, political, military, economic, racial, eugenic, cultural, or religious idiocy can take root and become official policy without the check of other power holders, the press, or public opinion.

You, having allowed the foolishness of “Israel our real protector” to take root in YOUR mind, thus have manifestly failed to understand what political problem the Framers tried to solve. I’ll go out on a limb, furthermore, and take a wild guess that you support every radical left-wing party, politician, and initiative here in the U.S. and, so, do your utmost to ensure that the rule of law is undermined, that union thuggery is unopposed, that election fraud and intimidation is ignored, that communists and socialists are poured into the federal government, and, above all, that the Supreme Court’s evisceration of federalism is celebrated at every opportunity. In short, I predict that you support in every way possible the accumulation of untrammeled federal government power so that we risk becoming a state in which the people lose control of their government and lunatic ideas can be implemented.

But Sadie, you go right ahead and hold fast to that idea that Israel is your true protector and that non-assimilation is the way to go. I take it you are unassimilated, yes?

On Daniel Pearl, note that he foolishly allowed himself to fall into the hands of Muslim killers in a remote and primitive region of the world that is far from Israel or the United States (his homeland). Tell me more how Mr. Pearl’s decision to be an assimilated Jew in the U.S. led to his not being protected. And, while you’re at it, let me know where you stand on Muslim immigration to the U.S., please. Surely, you think that’s a huge mistake, right?
