To #4 here, “children” are not unproductive, at least in our culture and thank God for that!
However, I have an idea I haven’t seen anywhere: If the Democrats succeed in controlling both houses and the Presidency, it is simple: let no Republican work or speak in a committee; no Republican opposition to anything proposed on both floors and NO VOTES from any Republican on any issue, period! No participation. Allow them to make the rules and for the first time, let the people see what their rules actually consist of.
Would that work? Since it has never been tried, we don’t know. And, there is also that side of the universe that is deaf, dumb and blind, so who knows? Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
