What a wonderful debate between Derbyshire and Spencer! I find myself agreeing first with one, then with the other. Perhaps this is because both recognize the threat to Western civilization, while emphasizing different aspects of the threat. The response above by David Mathews is illustrative of the problem both Derb and Spencer are trying to address- wilfull ignorance amongs the beneficiaries of Western civilization. My one minor criticism of both Spencer and Derbyshire is neither of them address the phenomenon of masochism amongst the affluent: the longing to submit to jihadis by the Western castrati amongst our governing, media and academic elite.
